About

Combining aspects of me – personal, consulting and start-up/entrepreneur…

Far other worlds… is about the relationship my life and work has with time, geography, human existence and the potential for making a difference, creating and working towards a better version of what ever the context.

This was an inspiration to get started – A partial and fitting quote from The Garden by Andrew Marvell …..

Meanwhile the mind, from pleasures less,

Withdraws into its happiness:

The mind, that ocean where each kind

Does straight its own resemblance find,

Yet it creates, transcending these,

Far other worlds, and other seas,

Annihilating all that's made

To a green thought in a green shade.

- Thank you Peter Saint-Andre for this fitting quote http://www.monadnock.net/fanspaces/marvell/garden.html

In particular she is now, through Hunome, her Internet start-up venture, focused on facilitating a better a better understanding of how humanity works a nd how to weave this knowledge into important contexts for many kinds of decision-makers.

Her roles over the last 20 years as intrapreneur, in-house futurist, change agent, author, speaker and executive in the rapidly changing high technology industry have allowed her to work in and on decision-making processes.

This journey and passion was boosted by her actions as a leader in putting future consumer thinking on the corporate agenda when she was the global product creation lead at Nokia, looking into the eyes of the beholder, the consumer, with a groundbreaking perspective.

She formed Nokia’s consumer foresight program, lead, in 1999, a major vision program on “The Mobile Information Society 2010”. The quantitative and qualitative findings have matched the reality. Dominique co-authored “Strategic Foresight: the Power of Standing in the Future” and contributed to “Thinking about the Future”. She has lectured to design students about how to understand the future consumer.

Dominique founded Hunome  – a company set to transform humanity’s understanding of how humanity works, providing a dynamic and visually engaging environment on the net to share and draw ‘what makes us tick’ understanding for many professional, intellectual and personal needs.

The best way to activate a future is to co-create it, Dominique Jaurola (or 'Dominique Purcell futurist')
